At BCEMS we see many different types of calls on a daily basis. We get some of the most basic, simple emergencies and also many emergencies that really put all our training and skills to work, and some calls that even make you scratch your head for a moment and say Hmmmm. We also see many traumas in our area and are lucky enough to have great EMT's, Paramedics, and First Responders who are trained to handle these calls. At BCEMS we all work together to achieve a common goal and that is to be the best we can be at what we do. We take pride in who we are.
What is EMS to you? Take a moment and ask yourself "Why did I become an EMT?" Was it to help people, to possibly make a difference in someone's life. Was it, your dream, your goal, your passion.....Or....Was it just something to do? Being an EMT isn't about waking up, getting dressed, coming to work and putting in your 8 hours. It is a never ending opportunity to give care to the sick, stabalize the injured, or give a sense of comfort in a time of fear. It takes something special to do what we do and give what we give. So being an EMT is not just another job, being an EMT is something to be proud of.... Theresa
